Pirating TV on the internet since 1812. ([info]fiberopticloser) wrote,

A few several things:

First:

I went to a rap battle. It was lame. It turned into an african-american culture party / trash the school newspaper session. Alesa was out of place even more than Brian and I.

Second:

My neighbor (some of you know her, all i'm saying) told me a sweet story about how she peed her pants. She's awesome.

Third:

You C++ guys- Remember the fraction calculator? I had to write one of those today. I found out it was due monday, and we were in the lab in class, so I wrote the entire thing in 30 minutes and it went off without a hitch. That's my 6th program to compile perfectly the first time. I love C++.

Fourth:

Sex, Drugs, and Cocoa Puffs, the book i've been casually reading (thanks to Alesa ) had the most amazing quote in a footnote (it has good footnotes).

"Viewed objectively, R2D2 is like a midget holding a Simon"

Fifth:

Despite being college students, much of CMU is in agreement- America is, in fact, the coolest. At least that is the general opinion of random smoking guys and cafeteria workers alike. Good ol' cap'n america shirt.

Sixth:

This shirt is AMAZING.

Seventh:

Apparently I not only drove away my roommate, but a prospective roommate as well. A guy came by because we soon have a vacancy, but he likes to get sleep. Will kindly informed him that I'm undead, and he scurried off.

FINALLY:

Yeah, sorry for taking up so much friend page space lately.

I was just thinkin' at lunch today, while I was looking at the cute cafeteria swipe card girl. When we see the same little card swipers and desk... sitters every day, the most we generally say to them is "hello", "have a nice day", "thanks", "good morning"... whatever. It's weird, though. It feels oddly comforting to see the ones you've seen before, recognize them... They're like pseudo-friends. You feel like you know someone, even though you really don't. They're nice to you because it's a formality of your job, and you're nice to them because it feels right. Crazy stuff.

Haha, I agree with you on that last one.

There's this one Indian guy in the cafeteria, the first experience I had with him was telling him to load my popcorn chicken wrap until it almost burst, because the regular portions were not enough for me. Now it always seems like everytime I've got even a remotely strange order, he's the one doing it. If I just want to get some cheese on my fries, he's the one putting on the cheese. I have the exact opposite relationship with him. I feel like he dreads everytime I walk to the counter.
